Install Station.
Nightly, in one line.

Nightly builds are cut from Station’s main branch and published as signed prereleases. They are unstable: expect rough edges, breaking changes, and the occasional bad build. There is no stable release yet.

What the installer does

  1. Checks the Nightly manifest’s Ed25519 signature against keys pinned in the script, then checks the archive’s size and SHA-256.
  2. Installs Station with its own Node.js runtime under ~/.station/installs/nightly (%USERPROFILE%\.station on Windows). Your data lives in ~/.station/instances/nightly.
  3. Adds a station-nightly launcher to ~/.local/bin (station-nightly.cmd on Windows). It never edits PATH, so add that folder yourself.
  4. Starts Station and prints a single-use sign-in link. The UI runs at http://localhost:38000.
  5. Verification needs Node.js 20 or newer. If none is on your PATH, the installer downloads a checksum-pinned Node.js for that step only.

Uninstall stops Station and removes the program. Your data stays in ~/.station/instances/nightly unless you add --purge-data (-PurgeData on Windows).

Desktop app

Prefer a native app? Station Nightly for desktop runs on macOS (Apple silicon) and Windows (x64) and updates itself from the signed Nightly feed.

  • The macOS app is notarized.
  • The Windows installer may not carry a publisher signature, so Windows can show an Unknown publisher or SmartScreen warning. The Windows app currently needs Node.js 24 on your PATH.
  • The desktop app and the command-line Nightly share the same data folder and ports. Run one at a time.

Server archives

The same signed builds the installer uses, for manual installs. The signed manifest lists every archive with its size and SHA-256.

QUESTIONS

Common questions.

Is Station a model?+

No. Station is a workspace for agents and models. Use Station agents with your chosen model, or connect an external agent such as Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Kiro, Cursor, Goose, Qwen Code, or GitHub Copilot.

Where does Station keep my data?+

Station stores its data under ~/.station on the machine running your Station. Model services, engines, paired devices, remote computers, and other integrations you configure can exchange data outside it, and some make startup or background requests. Desktop builds also check their release feed. Observability export needs an endpoint you configure.

What’s the difference between a Task and a Session?+

A Project supplies the work context and available agents. A Task keeps that context, its files, and its results together. A Session is one attempt at the work, and a Task can span several.

What is a receipt?+

A receipt records what ran, what passed or failed, and what remains unverified. Station can keep receipts beside the work through its workflow and evidence integrations. They record observations, not a guarantee of correctness or a complete record of every action.

How do I get started?+

Station is open source and in active development. Install the Nightly with one command on macOS, Linux, or Windows, use the Nightly desktop app for macOS (Apple silicon) or Windows (x64), or run it from source. The setup guide covers prerequisites, first launch, and connecting your agents. There is no stable release yet.
